I was the lead author of the Ontario Hospital Association’s Record Retention Toolkit.
In addition to preparing submissions, I have provided presentations, educational workshops, and legal advice regarding new legislation. My clients and audiences for these services include health care professionals, members of professional associations, and boards of health care and not-for-profit organizations.
From 2007 through 2009, I facilitated over 250 pre-hearings for an administrative tribunal.
I was retained to provide advice and recommendations for the establishment of a new adjudicative agency and advisory committees under the Health Insurance Act.
I designed and managed the development process for Ontario’s first hospital accountability agreement. The process involved six committees, numerous working groups, and over 100 participants.
I have provided legal opinions to hospitals and associations with respect to insured and uninsured services, including physiotherapy and MRI services, and drugs.
I drafted the Joint Policy and Planning Committee’s Model Accountability Agreement and Policy Statement on Accountability, and wrote the JPPC Working Paper, Incentives and Performance Improvement.
Corporate & Commercial Law
I have reviewed, drafted and negotiated many types of agreements for clients, including agreements for consultant services, off-site surgical facilities, shared library services, information and data sharing, physician services, insurance purchasing cooperatives, educational affiliations, and government grants and subsidies.I was the lead author of the Ontario Hospital Association’s Record Retention Toolkit.
Legislative Analysis
I have developed submissions to government relating to new health care and consumer protection legislation. This legislation includes the Commitment to the Future of Medicare Act, Local Health System Integration Act, Long-Term Care Homes Act, and the Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act.In addition to preparing submissions, I have provided presentations, educational workshops, and legal advice regarding new legislation. Governance, Facilitation & Committee Support

Health Law & Policy
I was appointed by the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care to conduct an external review of a major OHIP program, and co-authored the report, “External Review of the Ontario Health Insurance Plan’s Out-of-Country Program”.I have provided legal opinions to hospitals and associations with respect to insured and uninsured services, including physiotherapy and MRI services, and drugs.
