Profile
Legal and policy advice for the health care and non-profit sectors
I have extensive experience in the health care and not-for-profit sectors, both in providing advice and leading initiatives. I practiced for several years at a top tier law firm, where I specialized in corporate health law and not-for-profit law.  I have also held leadership positions in the policy area. Previous positions include Executive Director of the Ontario Joint Policy and Planning Committee, and Team Lead with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

My clients include professional and industry associations, health care organizations and professionals, not-for profit corporations, and government agencies.

I have delivered numerous conference presentations on governance and regulation in the health and not-for-profit sectors. These include presentations at the Ontario Hospital Association HealthAchieve conference, the Ontario Association of Non-Profit Homes and Services for Seniors Annual Meeting & Convention, and the Canadian Society of Association Executives National Conference. I have also authored a number of articles and newsletters in the health and not-for-profit area.

I was called to the Ontario Bar in 2001.

I received my undergraduate degree (first class) from Queen’s University, where I was named to the Dean’s Honour List. I completed a master’s degree at the University of Cambridge before attending the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto. I won a number of awards at the Faculty of Law and was placed on the Dean’s List.
